Single Serve Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

  • Author: Aiden
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 1 large cookie 1x

Description

This single-serve chocolate chip cookie recipe is perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth without baking a whole batch. Made with a buttery dough and lots of melty chocolate chips, it’s quick to prepare and baked to a soft, chewy perfection.

Ingredients

Scale

Cookie Dough Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp butter (salted or unsalted, softened)
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tbsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tbsp chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 tbsp mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Cream the butter and sugars: In a medium bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is smooth and creamy, creating a perfect base for your cookie dough.
  3. Add vanilla and egg yolk: Mix in the vanilla extract and egg yolk until fully combined, which adds richness and flavor to the cookie.
  4. Incorporate dry ingredients and chocolate chips: Gradually mix in the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until the dry ingredients are fully integrated and the flour is no longer visible. Then gently fold in the chocolate chips to distribute them evenly throughout the dough.
  5. Shape and bake the cookie: Roll the dough into a ball and place it on the prepared baking sheet. Optionally, top the dough with a few extra chocolate chips for an attractive finishing touch. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes until golden around the edges but still soft in the center.
  6. Cool and serve: Let the cookie cool directly on the baking sheet for 10-15 minutes to allow it to set and develop the perfect chewy texture before enjoying your fresh homemade treat.

Notes

  • For best results, use softened butter at room temperature to ensure smooth creaming with sugars.
  • You can swap mini chocolate chips for regular-sized chips if preferred.
  • If you like a gooier cookie, reduce baking time by 1-2 minutes.
  • Feel free to add a pinch of cinnamon or nuts for added flavor and texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
