  • Author: Aiden
  • Total Time: 15 minutes (including chilling time)
  • Yield: 12 Oreo spiders
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Create a fun and spooky treat perfect for Halloween with these Oreo Spiders. Using simple ingredients like Oreos, pretzel rods, chocolate chips, and candy eyes, this no-bake recipe is easy to assemble and great for kids and parties.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • Oreos – 1 package (about 36 cookies)
  • Chocolate chips – 1/4 cup (for melting and glue)
  • Googly eye candy – 24 pieces
  • Pretzel rods – 6 rods, broken in half to create legs

Instructions

  1. Melt Chocolate: Place about 1/4 cup or less of chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and melt gently in the microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
  2. Assemble Spider Legs: Break pretzel rods in half to form legs. Position four pretzel halves on each side of an Oreo cookie to resemble spider legs.
  3. Attach Eyes: Use a toothpick to dab a small amount of melted chocolate on the Oreo where the eyes will go. Immediately press two candy googly eyes onto the melted chocolate to secure them.
  4. Set the Spiders: Place the Oreo spiders in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden and set the eyes firmly in place.

Notes

  • You can use white or dark chocolate chips depending on your preference for melting and decoration.
  • If you want stronger spider legs, consider dipping the pretzel rods lightly in melted chocolate before placing.
  • Store the assembled Oreo spiders in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • This recipe is great for kids to assemble with supervision due to the melted chocolate step.
