  • Author: Aiden
  • Total Time: 1 hour 35 minutes (including chilling time)
  • Yield: Approximately 36 Oreo balls 1x

Description

These Oreo Balls are a decadent no-bake treat combining crushed Oreos and creamy cream cheese, coated with luscious dark and white chocolate melts. Perfect for parties, holidays, or satisfying any sweet tooth, these bite-sized truffles are easy to make and delightfully rich with a smooth texture and a crisp chocolate coating.

Ingredients

Scale

Oreo Ball Mixture

  • 36 Oreos
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)

Chocolate Coating

  • 10 oz Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Melting Wafers
  • 10 oz Ghirardelli White Vanilla Melting Wafers

Instructions

  1. Process the Oreos: Add the Oreos to a food processor and pulse them until they reach fine crumb consistency.
  2. Combine with Cream Cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the processed Oreo crumbs and pulse again until well combined, creating a truffle-like filling.
  3. Mix Thoroughly: Transfer the mixture to a bowl and use a rubber spatula to fully combine the Oreos and cream cheese ensuring even texture.
  4. Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking during the chilling and dipping processes.
  5. Form Oreo Balls: Use a cookie scoop to portion out the mixture onto the baking sheet, then roll each portion between your hands into smooth, round balls.
  6. Chill Oreo Balls: Place the formed balls in the refrigerator or freezer for about 1 hour so they firm up and hold their shape during dipping.
  7. Melt Dark Chocolate: Reserve ¼ cup of the dark chocolate wafers and leave them in the bag; melt the remaining dark chocolate wafers in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth.
  8. Dip in Dark Chocolate: Dip half of the chilled Oreo balls into the melted dark chocolate, coating them fully, and place them back onto the lined baking sheet.
  9. Melt White Chocolate: Reserve ¼ cup of the white vanilla wafers in the bag, then melt the remaining white chocolate wafers until smooth.
  10. Dip in White Chocolate: Dip the remaining half of Oreo balls into the melted white vanilla chocolate and place them onto the lined baking sheet.
  11. Chill to Harden: Return the dipped Oreo balls to the refrigerator and chill until the chocolate coating hardens completely.
  12. Drizzle Dark Chocolate: Melt the reserved dark chocolate wafers and drizzle over the white chocolate-coated Oreo balls to add decorative contrast.
  13. Drizzle White Chocolate: Melt the reserved white chocolate wafers and drizzle over the dark chocolate-coated Oreo balls for an elegant finish.
  14. Final Chill: Place all the decorated Oreo balls back in the fridge until the drizzle sets firmly. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Keep the Oreo balls chilled before dipping to help maintain their shape and avoid melting.
  • Use a rubber spatula to ensure the mixture is fully blended for smooth texture.
  • Melting chocolate wafers in short bursts in the microwave helps prevent burning.
  • You can substitute the Ghirardelli wafers with any high-quality melting chocolate of your choice.
  • Store finished Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator; they keep well for up to one week.
  • For a festive touch, add sprinkles or crushed Oreos on top before the drizzle sets.
