Easy Homemade Pizza Scrolls Recipe

  • Author: Aiden
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 8 scrolls 1x

Description

These delicious Pizza Scrolls are a quick and easy snack made with a simple dough of self-raising flour and Greek yogurt. Filled with flavorful pizza sauce, shredded cheese, and ham, they’re perfect for a savory treat or party appetizer. Whether baked in the oven or air-fried, these scrolls come out golden, cheesy, and satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 250 g self-raising flour OR all-purpose flour/pizza flour + 1 tsp baking powder
  • 270 g plain Greek yogurt

Filling

  • 80 g pizza sauce
  • 80 g light shredded cheese
  • 80 g shredded ham slices

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (380°F) to get it ready for baking the scrolls.
  2. Make the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the flour and Greek yogurt. Knead the mixture for a couple of minutes until it forms a smooth dough ball.
  3. Roll the Dough: Roll the dough out into a large rectangle on a floured surface to prepare for layering the toppings.
  4. Spread Sauce: Evenly spread the pizza sauce over the rolled-out dough to cover the surface completely.
  5. Add Toppings: Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the sauce, then layer on the shredded ham slices.
  6. Shape the Scrolls: Cut the dough into 8 long rectangles. Roll each rectangle individually into scrolls. Alternatively, roll the dough into one large log and then cut into 8 individual scrolls using kitchen floss or a sharp knife.
  7. Bake: Place the scrolls on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 18-22 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  8. Optional Air Frying: Alternatively, air fry the scrolls at 170°C for 15-17 minutes for a quicker option with a crispy texture.
  9. Cool and Serve: Let the scrolls cool slightly before serving so they hold their shape and are easier to eat.

Notes

  • You can use self-raising flour or make your own by adding 1 tsp baking powder to plain/all-purpose flour.
  • Light shredded cheese helps keep the scrolls less oily but feel free to use regular cheese for extra richness.
  • Ham slices can be substituted with other deli meats or a vegetarian filling if desired.
  • Air fryer timing may vary depending on your model; keep an eye to prevent overcooking.
  • These scrolls are best eaten fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 1-2 days.
