Easy Baked Pears Recipe

  • Author: Aiden
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

These Easy Baked Pears are a simple, healthy, and delicious dessert or snack option. Baked until tender and lightly caramelized with maple syrup and cinnamon, they can be enjoyed on their own or topped with crunchy maple almond granola and creamy Greek yogurt for added texture and flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Pears

  • 4 large pears (or 6 medium pears)

Flavorings

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) pure maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Optional toppings

  • Maple almond granola
  • Plain Greek yogurt

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly spray a large baking pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to prevent sticking. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Pears: Cut the pears in half lengthwise. Using a scoop, melon baller, or spoon, carefully core out the seeds from each pear half. Arrange the pear halves facing up in the prepared pan or on the baking sheet. Evenly sprinkle the ground cinnamon over the pears, adding more cinnamon if desired for extra flavor.
  3. Make the Syrup Mixture: In a small bowl, whisk together the maple syrup and vanilla extract until well combined. Drizzle this mixture evenly over all the pear halves, ensuring each one is coated with the sweet syrup.
  4. Bake the Pears: Place the pan or baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for about 25 minutes. Bake until the pears are soft to the touch and lightly browned around the edges. If the pears were very firm initially, you may need to bake them a few minutes longer to achieve tenderness.
  5. Serve and Store: Remove the pears from the oven and serve them warm. Optionally, top with maple almond granola and plain Greek yogurt for added crunch and creaminess. Store any leftovers in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Notes

  • Use ripe but firm pears for the best texture after baking.
  • Adjust cinnamon quantity to your taste preference.
  • If you want a deeper caramel flavor, you can broil the pears for the last 2-3 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning.
  • The optional granola and yogurt add texture and protein, making this dessert more filling.
  • Leftover baked pears can be reheated gently in the microwave or enjoyed cold as a snack.
