Christmas Tree Cake Truffles Recipe

  • Author: Aiden
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 20 truffles 1x

Description

These festive Christmas Tree Cake Truffles are a delightful holiday treat made by combining Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes with white chocolate and colorful decorations. Perfect for holiday parties, these bite-sized truffles are easy to make and visually festive with sprinkles, candy melts drizzle, and green sanding sugar.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 1 box Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)
  • 3 tablespoons festive sprinkles

Coating and Decoration

  • 8 ounces white chocolate or candy melts
  • 3 tablespoons red candy melts (optional, for drizzling)
  • Green sanding sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cakes: Unwrap the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes and place them in a large bowl to get ready for mixing.
  2. Form the dough: Use a handheld mixer to mix the cakes until a crumbly dough forms. Then mix in the festive sprinkles evenly throughout the dough.
  3. Shape the truffles: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the dough and roll into balls between the palms of your hands. Place each ball onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat this process until all the dough has been formed into balls.
  4. Melt white chocolate: Melt the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl using the microwave in short intervals or a double boiler until smooth.
  5. Coat the truffles: Dip each chilled cake ball into the melted white chocolate using a fork or dipping tool, ensuring it is fully coated. Let the excess chocolate drip off before placing back onto the baking sheet.
  6. Melt red candy melts: Place the red candy melts in a piping bag or ziplock bag and microwave in 30-second increments. Massage the bag between intervals until the candy melts are completely melted and smooth for drizzling.
  7. Decorate the truffles: Snip the tip of the bag and drizzle the melted red candy melts over the white chocolate-coated truffles. Immediately sprinkle with green sanding sugar for a festive touch. Chill in the fridge for a few minutes to set before serving.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper on the baking sheet for easy removal and clean-up.
  • Chilling the truffle balls before dipping helps maintain shape and prevents melting of coatings.
  • Red candy melts drizzle is optional but adds a festive look to the truffles.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
