Chorizo Mango Pizza Recipe

  • Author: Aiden
  • Total Time: 33 minutes
  • Yield: 1 large pizza, serves 3-4 people 1x

Description

A vibrant and flavorful Chorizo Mango Pizza combining spicy chorizo sausage, sweet fresh mango, and creamy burrata and goat cheeses on a crispy homemade pizza crust, finished with a sprinkle of fresh microgreens for a gourmet touch.

Ingredients

Scale

Pizza Base

  • 1 ball pizza dough
  • 1 tsp olive oil

Toppings

  • 4 chorizo sausage links, diced (see notes for alternate options)
  • 1/2 cup red onion, sliced
  • 1/4 cup poblano pepper, diced
  • 3/4 cup mango, diced
  • 1 ball burrata cheese
  • 1/4 cup goat cheese
  • Microgreens for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and facilitate easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness, then transfer it carefully onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Cook the Chorizo: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the diced chorizo and cook for about 8 minutes until it becomes crispy. Use a slotted spoon to remove the chorizo from the skillet, allowing excess oil to drain, then evenly distribute it over the prepared pizza dough.
  4. Add Vegetables and Mango: Layer the red onion slices, diced poblano pepper, and diced mango evenly over the chorizo on the pizza dough, creating a colorful and flavorful topping base.
  5. Bake the Pizza: Place the baking sheet with the topped pizza into the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes, allowing the crust to start baking and toppings to warm through.
  6. Add Cheeses: Remove the pizza from the oven and distribute the burrata cheese ball torn into pieces along with crumbled goat cheese on top of the partially baked pizza.
  7. Finish Baking: Return the pizza to the oven for an additional 3 to 4 minutes, or until the cheeses have melted and the crust turns golden brown and crisp.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven, sprinkle fresh microgreens on top for a fresh, peppery flavor, slice into servings, and enjoy your Chorizo Mango Pizza while warm.

Notes

  • If you prefer a milder flavor or do not have chorizo sausage, you can substitute with spicy Italian sausage or smoked turkey sausage for a different twist.
  • To prevent a soggy crust, drain cooked chorizo well before adding it to the pizza.
  • Poblano peppers can be substituted with poblano or mild green bell peppers if desired.
  • Fresh mango must be ripe but firm to maintain texture after baking.
  • Microgreens add a fresh finish but can be omitted if unavailable.
