Chocolate Covered Pretzels Recipe

  • Author: Aiden
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 75 chocolate-covered mini pretzels 1x

Description

Delightfully crunchy mini pretzels coated in smooth, melted semisweet chocolate and adorned with a variety of tasty toppings like sprinkles, toasted coconut, and crushed candies. This easy no-bake treat is perfect for snacking, parties, or gifting during festive occasions.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Covered Pretzels

  • 3 cups mini pretzels (120 grams, about 75 mini pretzels)
  • 8 ounces semisweet Baker’s chocolate (227 grams, coarsely chopped)

Toppings

  • Sprinkles, as desired
  • Toasted coconut, as desired
  • Mini chocolate caramels, as desired
  • Crushed M&M’s, as desired
  • Melted white chocolate, as desired
  • Graham cracker crumbs, as desired

Instructions

  1. Prepare baking sheet: Line a baking sheet with wax paper and set it aside. This will be used to place the dipped pretzels and allow the chocolate to set without sticking.
  2. Melt chocolate: In a medium-sized microwave-safe bowl, melt the coarsely chopped semisweet chocolate. Microwave on high for 1 minute, then stir thoroughly. If the chocolate isn’t fully melted, continue heating in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until smooth and completely melted.
  3. Dip pretzels: Using a fork, dip each mini pretzel into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Lightly tap the fork against the bowl’s edge to remove excess chocolate. Use a toothpick to clear any chocolate from pretzel holes if necessary.
  4. Add toppings: Place the chocolate-coated pretzel onto the prepared baking sheet and immediately sprinkle your choice of toppings over it while the chocolate is still wet. Repeat this process until all pretzels are coated and topped.
  5. Chill pretzels: Transfer the baking sheet with all coated pretzels into the refrigerator. Let them chill for about 15 minutes, allowing the chocolate to harden and set completely before serving or storing.

Notes

  • You can substitute semisweet chocolate with milk, white, or dark chocolate according to preference.
  • Feel free to get creative with toppings—nuts, sea salt, or crushed candy bars work well too.
  • Store finished pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator for longer freshness.
  • Microwave heating times may vary depending on your device; always stir thoroughly to avoid burning the chocolate.
