Blueberry Pie Bombs Recipe

  • Author: Aiden
  • Total Time: 18 minutes
  • Yield: 16 pie bombs 1x

Description

These Blueberry Pie Bombs are delightful little pockets of warm blueberry pie filling encased in flaky biscuit dough, air-fried to golden perfection. A quick and easy dessert or snack, they offer the comforting flavors of blueberry pie with a crispy, buttery crust and a sprinkle of sugar for added crunch.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 can (8-count) Pillsbury Grand biscuits (not flaky layers)
  • 1 cup (262 g) blueberry pie filling (store-bought or homemade)
  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Prepare the biscuit dough: Separate the biscuits from the can and peel each biscuit apart into two layers, so you have 16 layers total. Pat each layer into a 4-inch circle.
  2. Add the filling: Spoon about 1 tablespoon of blueberry pie filling into the center of each biscuit circle.
  3. Form the pie bombs: Fold the sides of the dough around the filling, pinching to seal tightly and rolling each into a smooth ball.
  4. Apply butter and sugar: Brush both the tops and bottoms of each ball with the melted butter, then sprinkle each generously with granulated sugar.
  5. Prepare air fryer basket: Spray the basket of your air fryer with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  6. Cook in the air fryer: Place the blueberry pie bombs in the air fryer basket about 2 inches apart to allow even circulation. Air fry at 330°F (165°C) for 7-8 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Serve warm: Remove from air fryer and serve the bombs warm for the best flavor and texture experience.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought or homemade blueberry pie filling according to your preference.
  • Make sure to seal the dough tightly around the filling to prevent leaks during cooking.
  • These pie bombs are best enjoyed fresh and warm but can be reheated gently in the air fryer.
  • Use a nonstick spray or brush the basket to avoid sticking.
  • Adjust cooking time slightly based on your specific air fryer model.
