Blue Christmas Truffles Recipe

  • Author: Aiden
  • Total Time: 2 hours 20 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 24 truffles 1x

Description

Blue Christmas Truffles are festive, creamy white chocolate treats infused with blue curacao and coated in sparkling sanding sugar. These no-bake, easy-to-make truffles are perfect for holiday celebrations and bring a delightful splash of color and flavor to your dessert table.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffle Mixture

  • 2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons blue curacao

Coating

  • 1/2 cup sanding sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt Chocolate and Cream: Add the white chocolate chips and heavy cream to a microwave-safe bowl. Heat the mixture in 30-second increments at half power, stirring thoroughly each time until the chocolate mixture becomes creamy and smooth.
  2. Add Blue Curacao: Stir the blue curacao into the melted white chocolate mixture until fully incorporated, giving the mixture a vibrant blue hue and a touch of citrus flavor.
  3. Refrigerate Mixture: Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator for two hours to allow the mixture to firm up enough to be shaped.
  4. Prepare Baking Sheet and Sugar: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pour the sanding sugar into a shallow bowl for easy coating.
  5. Form Truffles: Using a teaspoon, scoop out a slightly heaping amount of the chilled chocolate mixture. Roll it between your hands to form a neat ball, then roll the ball in sanding sugar until fully coated.
  6. Set Truffles: Place the coated truffles on the prepared baking sheet. Once all truffles are rolled and coated, refrigerate the tray for an additional hour to let the truffles set completely.
  7. Store and Serve: Keep the truffles refrigerated until ready to serve to maintain their shape and freshness.

Notes

  • Use a gentle hand when rolling the truffles to keep them smooth and avoid melting with your hands’ heat.
  • Blue curacao contains alcohol, so these truffles are not suitable for children or those avoiding alcohol.
  • You can substitute heavy cream with full-fat coconut cream for a dairy-free option, though flavor will differ slightly.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, substitute blue curacao with blue food coloring or blue raspberry extract.
