Ingredients
Scale
French Toast Mixture
- 6 thick slices brioche
- 4 large eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
For Cooking
- Oil spray (for air fryer basket)
- Powdered sugar (for serving)
- Maple syrup (for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt until fully combined and smooth.
- Preheat Air Fryer Basket: Lightly spritz the basket of your air fryer with oil spray to prevent sticking.
- Dip Bread Slices: Quickly dip each slice of brioche into the egg mixture, ensuring it is well coated but not soggy.
- Arrange in Basket: Place the dipped slices in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, leaving some space between each piece. Cook in batches if necessary depending on your air fryer size.
- Cook: Set the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and cook the French toast for 8 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, flipping halfway if needed for even browning.
- Serve: Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately topped with powdered sugar and maple syrup.
Notes
- Use thick slices of bread like brioche or challah for best results; thinner slices may become too crispy or overcooked.
- Do not soak the bread slices for too long in the egg mixture to avoid sogginess.
- If cooking in batches, keep cooked French toast warm in a low oven while finishing the rest.
- Adjust cooking time slightly depending on the brand and model of your air fryer.
- For a dairy-free version, substitute milk and butter with plant-based alternatives.
